That time I took on a retail giant & won a copyright battle!

I recently received a little magazine feature in the post all about that time I took on retail giant M&S & won my copyright battle! (If you want to know the full history of it all you can find it here).

My case was even presented in parliament! Funnily enough M&S was an an actual retail client of mine before it happened (via the Tigerprint studio, all totally separate & I was happy working there). I absolutely loved designing their decorations, packaging, greetings etc. & naturally after the fashion incident I stopped wanting to have anything to do with M&S.

The issue came from another department / supplier & my designs were printed on 1000’s of tops without my permission & were best sellers! A friend spotted it in their London Oxford Street store & it all went from there.

I can’t thank Anti-Copying in Design & Kelly Hudson at McDaniel’s Law enough for their immense support. I’ve been a member of the ACID Design Sector Council ever since & I continue to support designers & the creative community.

Although I’m not a legal expert & can’t offer advice for legalities, I do have a lot of knowledge about ways to protect your copyright & intellectual property as an artist, designer or business owner, physically & online.
