Every Colour of The Year 2026 that we know so far

Let’s dive into every Colour of The Year for 2026 that we know so far! Several colours have yet to be announced such as those from Benjamin Moore, Sherwin-Williams & most importantly Pantone (typically around November). While we wait, we have curated the colours that have already been chosen this year. Find out the decisions behind these colour trends & how we think you can use them in your artwork.

WGSN + Coloro – Transformative Teal HEX: 2f6364 | RGB: 47 99 100

WGSN typically predict their colours two years ahead, so Transformative Teal was picked back in 2024. They describe the colour as “A fluid fusion between dependable dark blue and aquatic green.”

WGSN predicted that in 2026 “old ideas will be challenged as people demand urgent changes to how we treat our societies, organise our industries, and cooperate with our environments.”

We think this colour would work well as part of botanical artworks, focused on bringing out the beauty of nature & how important it is.

Dulux – Mellow Flow HEX: 95a7b4 | RGB: 149 167 180 / Free Groove HEX: 014a7f | RGB: 1 74 127 / Slow Swing HEX: 2c3241 | RGB: 44 50 65

For 2026, Dulux have chosen three shades of blue for their colours of the year. “This versatile family of indigo shades, gives you the flexibility to create spaces where you can slow down, cosy up, fly free – or all three!” Dulux’s decision was led by expert insights that found blues to have “aesthetic appeal and psychological benefits” & that it was the world’s favourite colour.

We think this palette would suit artworks based around wellness, serenity & promoting healthy habits.

Valspar – Warm Eucalyptus HEX: 7b8473 | RGB: 123 132 115

For 2026 Valspar have chosen a colour that “gives you a warm feeling inside. And out.” This decisions behind this colour were based on trends around mindful living, slowing down & restful moments. “Indoor and outdoor boundaries continue to blur, which will emphasize the nature-inspired, restorative colors while curating personal styles.”

We think that paired with a neutral palette of warm browns & creams, it would suit artworks that are simple, interiors focused & promote mindfulness in the home.

Graham & Brown – Divine Damson HEX: 3b1e20 | RGB: 59 30 32

Graham & Brown’s colour of the year for 2026 is “inspired by the lush tones of ripe damson and fig.” This luxurious & warm shade was chosen for the way it adds subtle drama to a room & provides warmth & comfort while making a statement. The colour was also paired with a design of the year ‘Eternal Weave’, a whimsical design that is “heavily influenced by nature, mythology and the craftsmanship of the designs that come to life through texture, colour and storytelling.”

For artworks based on this colour trend we would advise leaning into the themes Graham & Brown have already suggested & creating motifs such as tropical flowers, plants, birds, reptiles & all things exotic to really capture the magical & whimsical nature of the trend.

Behr – Hidden Gem HEX: 596d69 | RGB: 89 109 105

Brand Behr have chosen “a smoky jade with an air of mystery and sophistication” for their 2026 colour of the year. They describe the shade as grounded, dynamic, gentle & captivating. It was chosen for its quiet confidence that can help redefine familiar spaces in the home.

Behr have also handily provided a full colour palette that includes Hidden Gem. It is a collection of “warm neutrals, vibrant accents, soft pastels and cool mid-tones.” We recommend checking out the full palette to use in your artwork. We feel the palette lends itself well to heritage, vintage & traditional artworks & motifs.

Benjamin Moore: Silhouette HEX: 57504c | RGB: 87 80 76

Benjamin Moore have chosen Silhouette for their 2026 colour of the year. “A distinctive colour that weaves luxurious burnt umber with delicate notes of charcoal”. The describe the shade as having a “refined elegance” that is “reminiscent of tailored suiting”. They also handily provided a full palette to go alongside that can be found on their website.

We think these colours would be a wonderful starting point for creating heritage or vintage inspired artwork capturing classical or traditional details.

Sherwin-Williams: Universal Khaki HEX: b8a992 | RGB: 184 169 146

For 2026 Sherwin-Williams have chosen “strength in simplicity” with the colour Universal Khaki. They describe the shade as “as an essential neutral selected by our color experts for its beautiful balance of liveability and longevity.”

We think Universal Khaki could be used within a neutral palette set against silhouetted florals and natural motifs for simple yet impactful art to be shared in the home for a timeless feel.

Little Greene: Adventurer HEX: 593b3f | RGB: 89 59 63

At Little Greene that have decided on Adventurer for their 2026 colour of the year. Described as a “timeless plum aubergine paint shade” it was chosen for its ability to create atmosphere and offer a sense of luxury and tranquillity.

This shade pairs well with related neutrals and pinks. Artworks using this shade could feature natural motifs that promote love and affection or could focus more on heritage or traditional inspired repeat patterns.

Glidden: Warm Mahogany HEX: 744033 | RGB: 116 64 51

This year Glidden have decided to “return to what truly matters: rest, connection, and creativity”. They have described Warm Mahagony as a “rich, grounded red that’s bold enough to draw immediate attention and reserved enough to make a timeless statement.”

We believe this shade will work well within a cosy autumnal palette for artworks based around fall flora and fauna such as leaves, mushrooms, forest trees and woodland creatures.

Dutch Boy: Melodious Ivory HEX: edd5b1 | RGB: 237 213 177

Dutch Boy for 2026 have chosen Melodious Ivory. “Creamy warmth brings a nostalgic, elevated vibe, perfect for showcasing handmade pieces and bold layers.” The shade was chosen for its timeless and calming and it accompanied by three colour palettes to explore: Heartland, Rekindle and Serendipity.

We think this colour and the palettes included would team together well for artworks based on natural motifs that evoke softness and serenity.

C2 Paint: Epernay HEX: decea4 | RGB: 222 206 164

C2 Paint have chosen Epernay for 2026, a shade that was once used in European interiors during the Beaux-Arts and Neoclassical periods. They describe the colour as “timeless, grounded, and inherently elegant”. The decision was inspired by “a time when artistry, detail, and ritual were woven into everyday life.” C2 have also provided an accompanying colour palette called the En Terre Collection.

Since this shade has specific origins, to use this colour in your work, we think researching artworks and motifs made during the Beaux-Arts and Neoclassical periods would be the best starting point.

Krylon: Coffee Bean HEX: 4a4037 | RGB: 74 64 55

For Krylon their 2026 colour of the year is Coffee Bean, a shade that creates “a sense of calm and a lovely connection to nature”. The decision behind the colour was based on it’s “timeless luxury”, “modern sophistication” and how it “lays a harmonious foundation for projects that echo the beauty of nature.” Krylon have also presented complementary shades that can create a full palette.

We think this shade and the complementary colours would work well in any natured based artworks that are more focused on sophisticated minimalism.

Lick: Return to Play

Lick have again broken with the mould this year and have instead offered a colour edit for 2026: Return to Play. “Nostalgic primary colours are reimagined with a grown-up, refined feel alongside rejuvenating greens and warming neutrals; it’s about timeless emotional resonance over fleeting trends.” This colour palette is based on a need for joyful, unapologetic and bolder shades for self-expression.

We think these shades would best be used in artworks that include bold, playful and even abstract geometrics.

Clark+Kensington: Hazelnut Crunch: HEX: 8e5645 | RGB: 142 86 69

Clark+Kensington’s 2026 Colour of the Year is Hazelnut Crunch. “It’s a beautiful, deep shade that creates the perfect backdrop for relaxed living, pairing effortlessly with both natural textures and modern elements.” The decision behind Hazelnut Crunch was based on “consumer trends toward biophilic design, cozy minimalism, and nature-rooted tones.”

We think this colour can be used in various autumnal based artworks that are focused on the cosy, earthy and grounded feeling the colours invokes.

Dunn-Edwards: A Quiet Joy

For 2026 we have another grouping of colours rather than an individual colour from Dunn-Edwards: A Quiet Joy. “From sun-washed floral hues to elegant deep tones, our 2026 Color Trends draw inspiration from colors found in nature, with a visual harmony perfect for creating interiors that feel as inviting as the outdoor spaces we love.” They’ve also included a ‘Notable Neutrals’ palette for creating a cosy environment.

We think these two palettes would be used best in botanical-based artworks, but we would encourage you to think about bringing in those sun-washed and cosy elements.

Johnstone’s: Secret Safari: HEX: bcad5d | RGB: 188 173 93

Johnstone’s have chosen Secret Safari for their 2026 Colour of The Year, “a warm, sunlit yellow-green that brings calm and balance to any space. Explore the key trends and palettes shaping interiors for the year ahead.” Chosen for its sense of balance and optimism, this shade simultaneously brings calm and energy to a room.

We would recommend looking at the recommend colour palettes Johnstone’s have provided and creating artworks based around those themes: Authentic, Visionary and Expressive.

From Crown again instead of a singular colour they have provided their colour insights for 2025/2026, which explores “the political, technological, environmental, and societal trends that are helping shape the global landscape.” Their insights include the palettes: Choreography, CO, Disrupt, Faraway and G-Local.

Mylands have decided on Burlington Arcade™ as their 2026 Colour of The Year, “a richly layered teal shade that reads as both classic and serene. Part heritage, part modern intervention, it is a hue that invites pause and awe in any space; inhabiting a quieter kind of comfort.”

As the shade name is inspired by “the genteel grandeur of its Central London namesake”, we think there would be no better topic for your artworks.
