Championing creativity, design rights & resilience

You may have seen that Rachael wrote an article about the 74 copycats that have been discovered for her 1970s Floral design. At times like this it’s often said that it’s “flattering”. It’s not, it’s just theft. Or a “pain in the arse” to quote Rachael 🙂

We hear so many similar stories & while Rachael fights like hell during her own cases, we know we have the help of so many people on the ground working daily to help designers know their rights. We’re so grateful to Anti-Copying in Design for their support & to Edwin James IP for taking on the case.

Rachael shared more of her thoughts in issue 87 of the ACID magazine: ‘Designing the Next Chapter: Multi award winning surface pattern designer Rachael Taylor on staying true to her visions through challenges & changes.’

“Throughout my career I’ve maintained a long-standing relationship with ACID (Anti Copying in Design), an organisation that champions designers’ rights and raises awareness around intellectual property protection. Their support has been invaluable during the more challenging moments of defending my work. Through my own experiences and my work within the creative community, I remain a strong advocate for protecting designers and celebrating the value of genuine creativity.”
